A Cousin Visit

I am a little behind - I haven't been home much recently because Nate's been hunting in S.D. (then I head for Grandma & Grandpa's house!).

A couple weekends ago we got to spend a little time with my cousin Nicky and 2 of her 3 kiddos. Ella and Sara stopped by to play for a bit. I didn't get any pictures of Ella - she was busy playing Little People, but here are a few pics of Henry and Sara.

Sara busy rocking.

Straight out of a catalog, right? Frogs and Sharks.

Pancake Supper

Tonight we had pancakes for supper - I love having breakfast for supper. Henry couldn't wait to push the chair up to the counter and help me make the batter. He helped crack eggs and beat them, add the ingredients and then sift them, stir the batter, and wipe off the counter (which was too cute). Here are a few pictures of my little helper - hopefully you can see the flour on his face!

Beating the eggs.

Mixing.

Checking the batter.

Sweet Moments

I love watching Nate and Henry together. Just the simple day-to-day moments that make me grateful to be married to a wonderful guy who happens be an amazing dad to our sweetie pie! Sorry, I will stop gushing now.

Daddy and Henry sharing a piece of cake together. Henry was actually a little possessive and insisted on digging in without any assistance from Nate.

Yum! He's really concentrating on using that fork.

They were both tired after lunch last week, so they curled up in a corner and read books and Babybug magazines together.

The Chair...again

One morning last week, after Henry had fun with this plastic bucket, I heard a familiar sound and turned around to see...

...Henry and "The Chair" on the move again.

He loves the noise the microwave buttons make...and the sugar bowl next to the microwave.

Ironically, this is what the microwave displayed after Henry was done (it took me a long time to get rid of it too!).

Rainy Days, Transportation, and Duck Opener

Rainy Days

Henry sporting his Froggie boots and raincoat - he's on his way out to jump in rain puddles.

Rainy days are also perfect for curling up in a comfy chair and relaxing.

Transportation
This chair is Henry's preferred mode of transportation (at least for getting around the kitchen). In the last few weeks, he has used it to get: the sugar bowl, a piece of cake, a drink from the sink, my cell phone (my apologies to Uncle Scott for the early Saturday morning phone call), gum in my purse, the list goes on...

Using the chair to get in the pantry. He grabbed the salt of all things!
Duck Opener

Watching the Twins game with Uncle Jeff and Uncle Jon on Friday night. Henry had lots of fun watching the guys get their hunting gear ready.

On Saturday night I started making Pumpkin bread. As soon as Henry heard me in the kitchen he grabbed his chair and started helping. While I was measuring, he started using his chopsticks to stir the dry ingredients!

Imagination

Henry's imagination is alive and well. It is so fun to watch him learning new things and growing. Over the last few months we've noticed that he is enjoying more imaginative play.

Lately, our pheasant salt and pepper shakers have been a source of fun for him. While he eats his breakfast, he acts out scenes with the pheasants. Nate and I aren't exactly sure what's going on in these scenes, but we hear a lot of "Mine!" "No! No! Mine!" Then all the characters take a drink from a nearby glass and get something to eat from Henry's breakfast. Honestly, it is one of my favorite things to watch and makes me realize how much I love him!

"Mine!"

"No! No! Mine!"

I guess it worked, because this one is flying away. Maybe looking for a glass of juice to drink.

Playing with Daddy

Henry loves doing whatever his daddy does!

Reading the paper with Daddy before breakfast.

This is a favorite pose. He always adds an appropriate, "Hmm..."

Checking out last week's Favre report...sore subject for the family members from Wisconsin.

This is how I know I married Mr. Wonderful! Henry had a grand old time leading Daddy around the house. Every now and then, Nate would escape and Henry would laugh while chasing and tackling him.
