Harmonicas

The boys have already decided on some favorite singers. Waylon Jennings has been Henry's favorite since he came home. Waylon singing, "This Time" was the only thing that would stop Henry when he was crying in the car - as soon as he started singing, the crying stopped. Walter has settled on Johnny Cash because he likes listening to his "Choo Choo Song" (otherwise known as "The Orange Blossom Special").

A few weeks ago we were listening to Mr. Cash as we drove to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). Henry was admiring the harmonica work in "Orange Blossom Special" and mentioned that he'd like a harmonica "like Johnny." Just so happened I found a cheap one a few hours later. Since then the boys have enjoyed playing their harmonicas - they've even played along with Waylon and Johnny in the car.

An early morning concert - this in the middle when they had some twirling going on while they played. Pretty talented.

Winter Biking

Biking scenes from our house this month - these are the best pictures we could get since they were moving at top-spead...

Driving

I stumbled upon this scene after hearing a crash the other day. Looks like somebody either made a mad dash for the bathroom or put their foot on the accelerator instead of the brake...

A field sobriety test was administered and since he was found to be sugar-free at the time of the incident, he was released after re-rolling the toilet paper.

Snack Time

Walter's still mastering a drip-free technique for eating fruit-pops.

Keeping Busy

The bitter cold has already kept us inside many days this winter, so we're trying to find lots of things to keep us busy.

BAKING

Making cookies...they are great at adding the first few ingredients and then sneaking lots of samples.

PAINTING

Lately, the boys have really enjoyed water painting. Instead of using paper, they like to paint on cutting boards...

...the kitchen wall and window (This happened very quickly and surprised me so I couldn't help but laugh. I turned around after washing Walter's hands and Henry said, "Look, Mom, I did it myself!")...

...and each other. How fun would it be if you didn't paint your brother's face?

Pretending

Making ships with the dining room chairs and then pretending to be Were-Rabbits hiding on the ship.

BUILDING SKILLS

They always want to play with tools so why not give them time to use them (under parent supervision, of course). Both of them enjoyed taking apart an old phone and DVD/VCR player.

Walter Playing

Today we got together with our extended family as a belated Christmas and birthday celebration. Aunt Mimi used Grandpa & Grandma L's camera to get a video of Walter playing with his great-uncles and Boppa after dinner. He was having lots of fun with the spinning ring.

Thanks to Boppa and Nate, we were able to post it here. We thought those of you in Seoul and our family who haven't met Walter might enjoy seeing him in action and hearing him laugh...and if you listen carefully, you might learn something new about mercury.

Smoothies

We had fun making smoothies a few days ago. Henry and Walter enjoyed measuring (and sampling) ingredients and pushing the blender buttons - although the noise did make them both jump. The best part was enjoying their treat.
