Dancing

Photobucket
This picture was supposed to go with the others I just posted...but I needed to crop myself out first! I'm not nearly as cute as Henry when I dance! Can you see how he's feeling the music?

Everyday Life

Apparently, Walter felt that the fish should be getting more than fish food to eat - He was trying to share some Life cereal with them.

Taking a rest with Tiger on the kitchen floor. I thought it was so sweet how they wanted to hold hands.

Daddy's home! You can see Daddy is a popular guy around here and the activity level really picks up when he walks in the door.

Going through the kitchen cupboards - a favorite activity.

Weekend Pictures

How does Monday always get here so fast? We took Henry and Walter swimming at Lake Florida this weekend and they had a great time. Henry really took off as a swimmer this summer! He likes to swim in circles and jump to Dad from the dock. Walter loved being in the water and we had a hard time getting him out. After seeing Henry jump to Dad, he wanted to do the same thing - instead of jumping, he just steps off the edge!

We had a nice time relaxing on the porch one evening. This isn't the best picture, but it was the best of the pictures we took! What can we expect with two busy, wiggly worms?

I don't know if you can see the table knife Henry is holding, but he loves to grab this bowl and knife and pretend to be a sword fighter, Shrek, or a pirate. What an imagination!

Walter's Omma (Foster Mom) told us that Walter loves dogs...and he does. At the lake, we reunited with Kenda who has been living with my family for the last couple of weeks (Thanks, Family!). Walter loved feeding Kenda every single one of his goldfish crackers just as much as Kenda loved eating them!

I was trying to get pictures of Henry and Walter wearing their new "Big Brother" and "Little Brother" pajamas last night. Here they are tickling before Walter went to his room for bedtime.

I found Henry sitting on the couch and "reading" his car sticker book this morning. He was really concentrating!

Brothers (and some friends)

Here are a few pictures from the last few days - the quality may not be the best because these little guys are hard to keep up with!

Henry likes to hang out on the slide in our living room, so Walter had to do it, too.

Running through the porch - a favorite activity.

Off to work! "Bye, Mom. I'm leaving now."

Henry showing Walter all the buttons on the "four wheeler."

So this is what little brothers are for...

The Cozy Coupe is a popular item at our house!

Driving their vehicles on the driveway.

Nate helping Henry with the monkey bars at the park.

Walter loves the slide.

One of the few pictures of Henry and Walter together - one of them is usually on the move!

My friend, Michelle, and her kids stopped by this week. Henry loves playing with his friends. Here are Tseganesh, Henry and Landry playing the piano together.

I couldn't resist...

Henry LOVES running - I had to have the camera set on "Action" in order to get a picture that wasn't completely blurred!

Walter loves playing with balls. I had so much fun watching Nate with Henry and Walter on this night. They were playing soccer, catch, and even basketball. He's such an incredible dad!

The Week in Review

I can't believe we've been home for one week. We're thankful to be together and enjoying getting to know Walter. He is a happy little guy, easy-going, and so sweet. Henry enjoys being a big brother a little more each day. They had fun chasing each other around the house this morning before church and Henry LOVES to comfort Walter with, "It's okay honey," and pats on the back when he wakes up. I am a happy lady!

The last few weeks, Henry runs whenever the camera comes out...so you'll notice I had a hard time getting pictures of him!

Nate and Henry went to the lake after church, while Walter and I enjoyed some time at home. Walter loved playing the piano.

Trying to walk in Mom's shoes.

Spending some time together.

Walter with his tiger. Tiger goes with us everywhere...

The boys having fun together - I think there are a few wrestling matches in our future!

Watching the fish. He loves to sit and watch them swim.

One morning after I got up I heard lots of noise coming from Henry's room and then, "Help! Help me! Help!" I opened the door to see dresser drawers open with clothes all over the room, and Henry sitting in the midst of it all trying to get a pair of shorts on by himself. He had changed out of his pajamas and was trying to dress himself - I was very proud of him. I tried several times to get a picture of him in the clothes he picked out...but as you can tell, he ran every time!

Taking a break from going down the slide.

Grandma and Grandpa A stopped by one afternoon with Dove Ice Cream Bars - they were big hit with Henry and Walter!

These two are on the slide all day long!

Pics from Sunday

Here are a few pictures from today. We went for a walk and played at the park, but otherwise tried to take it easy at home. It is wonderful to finally be at home enjoying our family (minus Kenda) reflecting on the Lord's faithfulness and goodness during this process that was full of emotional ups and downs. We're thankful that He is all-knowing and that nothing surprised Him.

Enjoying a treat after our walk.

Laughing with Dad after supper.

We're Home!

I'll put the pictures first. :)

Our wonderful Social Worker, Walter's Omma, and Walter before the prayer.

Nap time in our room. He loves his tiger pillow.

First supper together.

Having fun running at LAX airport with Dad.

Henry waiting with his cousins at the airport.

Too sweet. Henry and the "Welcome Home" sign he helped make.

Meeting some cousins and friends.

Henry and Walter taking a look at each other.

Already enjoying Grandma Berg's sandbakkels.

We finally spent our first full day at our house as a family of four. We spent the last few days in Seoul shopping and visiting a few places that we wanted to see. On Wednesday morning we made a few stops in Sinchon and near Ewha Women's University, had lunch and then headed back to our room to get ready for our last meeting.

We headed down to the first floor a little early - there came a certain point when I couldn't stand waiting in our room anymore. Our Social Worker showed us to the room and then came back with Walter and his foster mom. Once again, we could hear him running down the hall! I won't go into all the details, but Wednesday was a very emotional day. How do you thank the incredible woman who has loved and raised your child for over a year, knowing the day would come when she would have to say goodbye?

After Dr. Kim said a prayer for Walter and the other children leaving that day, we hugged Walter's foster mom and he was placed in our arms.

We were thankful to have one night with him before we flew out on Thursday. He took a good nap and enjoyed a dinner of bananas and soup with noodles. We headed out to dinner around 7:30 and Walter enjoyed the walk, too. He loves trying to go up and down stairs - I might be getting into better shape quickly!

Our plane left on Thursday afternoon from Seoul. Walter spent some time crying on the flight, but we were impressed with how well he did. We went through customs in LAX and then headed to Minneapolis. He slept almost the entire flight, which made for an easy flight but we were anxious to land!

It was wonderful to finally be home and see Henry and our friends and family! We drove home last night (Friday) and are trying to get into a normal sleep schedule. Henry and Walter are also adjusting. They had a great time chasing each other around the house and porch tonight after dinner. We went for a nice walk and read some bedtime stories together. Walter's favorite thing so far has been throwing a ball to Gus (Megan's dog) - he squeals every time Gus goes after the ball. He also loves imitating Henry. Henry's not so sure what he thinks of this yet. :) I left home, thw mom of one, thinking my three year old was a little boy and got off an airplane one week later and realized that he was much older than I realized! How did that happen? I'm convinced he grew taller and got older in one week...and now we have 2 boys to watch grow!!
