Dad's Fishing Trip - Day 4

Nate sacrificed Day 4 of his fishing trip to help my dad work on removing part of a 3 ft thick cement slab at the lake! What a guy!

Henry and I went to a big birthday party that we had with our Korean play group. We celebrated all of the kids' birthdays on one day (most of the kids were born in June!). It was nice to see our friends and meet some new friends too. We even reconnected with a couple we met while in Korea!

Henry and Mom: Tired out and ready to go home!

The following pictures are of Henry and Olivia playing with the car together. My favorite is the first one, where Olivia is almost bent in half while trying to push the car!

Dad's Fishing Trip - Day 3

On Day 3 we drove to "the cities." We had lunch with the Aunties and made cookies. Fine...we ate some cookie dough, too!

Henry and I met Mary and Addie for some shopping. I won't say who, but somebody really liked the toy aisle. This same individual also tried to take every article of clothing off of the clothing racks!

A McDonald's Strawberry Shake was necessary in order for this mom to recover from the shopping trip! So the 4 of us chatted over lemonade and ice cream.

I was still in a fragile state, but thought I could handle a quick visit to a nearby store to make a return - BIG mistake! I'm not sure why they have to put jewelry on the counter, but Henry loved it and I did not!

Needless to say, Day 3 was not the best Henry and Mom day. Thank goodness for good friends, sisters, shakes, and Asprin!

Enjoying the lawn mower that Aunt Gayle gave him. He mowed so fast it was hard to get a picture.

He loves riding the "neigh." He has taken some lessons from Auntie Erin on dangerous riding! He isn't able to make the horse bounce around the room yet, but I'm sure with a few more lessons...

Watching "Cars" with Auntie Megan - this lasted about 5 minutes. Thankfully, I don't need to worry about Megan introducing any dangerous skills while watching movies. Unless we count remote control handling with ultimate-channel-changing-speed as a dangerous skill - but Grandpa Leverentz taught him that!

Dad's Fishing Trip - Day 2

This week was Nate's annual fishing trip with his brothers and friend John. They stay at their parents' place on Lake George and have a good time hanging out.

Henry and I tried to keep busy to help the days go by quickly.

Day 1 was spent recovering from the busy weekend and running a few errands in town. Grandma & Grandpa Ammermann came over for dinner and then we went for a walk and played at the park with Aunt Jodi and cousins Megan and Lauren.

Day 2 was spent with our good friends, Jessica and Josie. Josie is another favorite friend of Henry's so he was excited to see her. We had some beautiful weather, too!

Josie collecting rocks.

Henry and Josie playing together. (This is after Jessica rescued Henry. He tried to walk into the lake with his clothes and shoes on and fell face first into the water! Needless to say the swimsuits went on and so did the life jacket!)

Henry enjoying the sand.

Friends...

Checking out a special rock that Josie found...budding geologists?

Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day with our friends Craig and Kaia. They visited us on their way back to North Dakota. You can see from the pictures that Henry really liked Craig. He was especially interested in Craig's goatee!

Giving Craig a hug and a hair fluff.

Craig wasn't particularly hungry, but he was a good sport and ate the many graham crackers that Henry fed him (rather forcefully sometimes!).

Do you think he has enough crackers?

Hanging out with the guys - I think Nate was asking Craig to be his friend on Facebook. If you're wondering, Craig accepted Nate's friendship immediately via Blackberry. I tell you what...

Here we go again!

As of today, we are officially waiting for baby #2 to join us! Our social worker came out to update our homestudy today. The estimate is that we should/could receive a referral sometime between November and February. We'll let you know when we hear something.

Mother's Day Weeked

We spent Mother's Day weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Leverentz's house. Great Grandma Berg came to visit too. My cousin Kari and her husband, Ryan, also stopped by for a visit. Henry loves spending time with his aunts and grandparents. He really likes it when they take him out to the cars in the garage so he can push all the buttons. This weekend he pretended to put on lipstick and fix his hair after opening the mirror on the visor...I don't own lipstick!

Henry loves trying to take pictures with Grandma's camera.

Mother's Day 2009: Grandma Leverentz, Henry, Great Grandma Berg, Mom

Henry put this hat on Grandma - you can tell they are having fun together.

Yum! Using a fork to eat some delicious chocolate cake.

We don't know how he learned this but here he is pretending to ride a horse. He even does the "giddy up" complete with a tap to the horse's behind!

Auntie Megan played the guitar while Henry danced to the music.

Helping Great Grandma Berg open her present. Grandma brought more sandbakkles which made Henry very happy.

Reading "Busy People" with Auntie Erin.

Taking Auntie Megan for a walk! He thought this was really fun.
