A Week in Review

During the long winter months, Henry and I occasionally drive to Willmar and visit the pet shop. He loves watching the fish, and seeing all the birds, cats, hamsters, snakes, guinea pigs etc. It gets us out of the house for a little while and I enjoy seeing him run from one thing to the next. Last week while we were hanging out in the fish section, Henry said to me, "Mommy, buy fish. Buy fish." So this weekend we brought home a small fish tank and 4 fish.

Our little tank. Henry really wanted a "fishy house" and was excited to find a SpongeBob house. We had to laugh because the filter takes up about a quarter of the tank! That poor goldfish is almost too big for his new home.

This is right after we set everything up. He can't wait for "suppey time" when he gets to feed the fish (who were named Shimmer, Pebbles, Freckles, and Goldie by his cousins). The last few mornings he wanted to eat his breakfast while sitting in front of the fish. We've already lost our first fish - little Goldie lasted just 48 hours...

A few weeks ago, we thought we heard Henry get up from his nap but he never said anything or came downstairs so we thought he decided to get back into bed. A little while later I heard some noises and went upstairs. I found Henry covered in makeup. He pushed his step stool up to the cabinet, crawled up, stood on the counter and opened the mirror and the proceeded to cover himself with makeup.

Last week I heard his little footsteps getting out of bed and then running back to his bed...but I remembered the incident from a few weeks earlier so I headed upstairs. I had been packing before his nap. Henry opened the suitcase and found my makeup bag. I found him sitting on the landing with makeup brushes and makeup all over the floor.

He wanted whiskers on his face.

The phone rang and he disappeared. I discovered him in the guest bed, under the covers, sucking his thumb.

He is having fun playing with the Rescue Heroes (???) that our friend, Lucas, is lending him.

Henry loves fresh bread. I made a loaf last week and all he wanted to eat was bread. I came down from getting ready that morning and he was sitting on the ottoman eating the loaf...not just part of it, the whole thing! He used a chair to get up on the kitchen island and carried the loot off, leaving the tin foil behind.
