Weekend at the Lake

It's always a challenge to find dates that work for everybody when trying to get together with friends, so we were excited that our family and the T family were able to find a few days to spend the lake together.  We always have a ton of fun with them!  It's only October, but these pictures have me wishing it was July all over again!

Walter is also modeling the cast cover we got for swimming.  It was worth every penny and the drive back to our house to pick it up after it was delivered because he swam all weekend (and the rest of the summer) with it!

The Relaxation Station was intended for adults to relax under the hot sun in cushy comfort, while dipping their toes in cool water and drinking iced beverages...but the four of us grown-ups thought it was called the "Relaxation Station" because once it's in the water, all we had to do was sit in comfy chairs on the patio and watch the kids play on it!

Looks pretty calm at first...

...But then the imaginations kicked in (it was a pirate ship that was sinking after a long battle) and there was jumping, climbing, screaming, and water gun battles.

Walter and Randy made a good water gun team on the dock.

The best thing about playing in the water all day?  Early bed time!
A few of the boys made it through a movie before going to bed.

Saturday morning and the fishing started up right away.  The dads got up way too early and spent the morning fishing on a nearby lake.

 Success for Nate and Randy

Back to fishing...

...and a little more swimming...

...and cards...

 ...and relaxing.

Until Next Year

The kids enjoyed playing on the rocks before having to say "goodbye."

Mimi Erin was holding on tight - Grandma L was always worried about her grandkids getting too close to the water...now I understand.

Squeezing in a few more minutes of playing together.

The most highly anticipated moment of the weekend:  Taking a group picture.
You've got one guess to figure out who was in charge of hitting the timer button...

A little down time in cabin 6...

After the rest of the group left, we drove to Grand Marais with the Mimis and Grandma.  We went through the art show, visited the Trading Post, ate lunch at the Crooked Spoon and took time to skip some stones.

The World's Best Donuts was closed but we still got a picture of this cute couple.

 Back to skipping stones...

Me with my guys.

And of course, we had to get some ice cream.

Time to head back to Tofte.
