BSF 2013

This year at Bible Study Fellowship we studied the book of Genesis.  It was another great year of study.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about the 5 teachers who taught Henry and Walter this year.  They volunteered a ton of time, loved my kids and shared the joy of knowing Jesus with them.  It was also a challenging year for me - making the drive each way, packing and unpacking each week, and a few other things, but it was always worth it when we got there.  I helped in Walter's class a lot, but the last day of class we were all (Walter, Grandma and myself) able to spend time in Henry's class and it was fun!

With their teachers:
Walter and Miss Donna (Miss Sarah was gone)
Miss Donna was one of Henry's teachers his first year at  BSF

 Henry and Miss Wanda
She did a lot of character dress-ups as she taught the lessons.  The most memorable for me was Hagar.

 With Miss Jill
(we were in a discussion group my first year at this class)

With Miss Cindy
(He had Miss Cindy last year, along with Miss Lexi who he was excited to see next door each week this year)

Henry's Jet Pack

I was getting ready for our last morning of BSF when Henry walked in saying, "Hey, Mom, check out my new jet pack!"  What an imagination!

Walter looks a little stunned, don't you think?

Helping Gramps

Henry loved helping Gramps with this job!  I just missed getting a picture of Walter standing behind Henry and covering his ears for him.  What a brother!

Birthday Gifts

Walter was more than excited to find a few birthday packages waiting for him at the post office.

Taking time to read the card from Aunt Gayle.

 Rescue Bots!

 Let's go play!

He picked out these costumes as his gifts from us - couldn't wait to try them on...

This picture totally cracks me up!

Sleeping Spider-Man

The week before Walter's birthday, Grandma L took Walter shopping for his birthday presents while Henry and I were at BSF.  He had his eye on a Spider-Man web maker and a talking Spider-Man helmet for months, so he was thrilled to get them for his birthday.  It was a warm day but he was as happy as a clam wearing every item for the car ride home...and then he fell asleep a few miles later.

Happy Birthday/Happy Mother's Day

This year Walter's birthday fell on Mother's Day.  We decorated the bedroom doorway with balloons while they were sleeping.

Henry liked the balloons - he put in a request to do the same thing for his birthday.

We headed off to church and then to lunch at Uncle Merle and Aunt Jan's.  It was a beautiful day so the kids were able to run around outside.  They played in the dirt, chased balloons, and had fun with their cousins.
Aunt Jan got bubbles for each of the kids.  The picture above cracks me up because it catches Walter doing something he does almost every time he plays with bubbles - he opens the container sideways and all the liquid pours out on the ground....but he's a pretty good sport about it.  The picture below shows Henry doing one of his favorite things - chasing bubbles.  He frequently asks me to come outside with him and blow bubbles so he can chase them.

Uncle Merle and Aunt Jan were so sweet to decorate for Walter's birthday.

Enjoying the sun and some punch.

Waiting for their turn to bat...notice anything funny about Henry's shirt?

A closer look.  He loves to add his own special touch to the clothes he wears.  He insisted on wearing this shirt backwards.

Taking in the game and enjoying his punch.

Henry batting...

Love the stance.

Walter's turn...

It was time for cake
 and blowing out the candle.

Even though we were stuffed, we drove home and had Walter's birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa A.  Walter wanted "noodles with cheese and broccoli" (fettuccine Alfredo) and watermelon.  He was very excited about the whipper snappers Nate gave him before dinner so they had to be on the table, too.
