Eating with Socks

Yes, he's eating with socks on his hands. In a matter of a few seconds, Henry took his socks off his feet, put them on his hands, and tried to eat a cheese stick and pizza. What would we do without him?

Chopsticks

Our friends gave us these great childrens' chopsticks which teach you how to hold chopsticks.

As you can see Henry enjoys using them...but not always for eating! Don't worry, it's not what you think!

Back to eating rice with his fingers.

Busy Weekend

A few weekends ago we had lots of fun spending time at the Children's museum, visiting with family, and playing at the park. It was a busy weekend but we really enjoyed it.

The Children's Museum:

One of Henry's favorite TV shows is called Dinosaur Train. The Children's Museum had the main character, Buddy, visiting on Saturday so we thought it would be fun to go. Here is Henry waiting to see Buddy on his dad's shoulders. Unfortunately, Buddy was kind of a bust! Oh well, we just moved on...

Henry thought this guy was pretty cool. It was part of the exhibit on life in China.

Auntie Mimi #2 came along and Henry loved playing with the lights in the shadow puppet area.

The water area is hands-down Henry's favorite part of the Children's Museum. They have some amazing water tables.

Playing in the hard hat area.

Pretending to be a bus commuter...not so sure I'd sit down next to him on the bus if he were doing this!

At the Park:

Henry enjoyed going to the park with his cousin Lincoln. His passion for swings was reignited - it's so much more fun when someone is on the next swing.

Of course throwing rocks is fun, too (this is before the rock throwing started).

Lincoln enjoyed talking with Nate.

Visiting:

Aunt Cindy, Aunt Pepper, and Uncle Rick flew in from St. Louis, MO so we had a wonderful time visiting with them. We managed to get 1 picture when Henry sat still...almost.

At the Park

Now that the weather is warmer we have been heading to the park to play. Over Easter weekend we spent some time there while we were visiting my family.

Nate introduced the idea of running across the troll's bridge. As soon as we get to the park he yells, "Troll! Troll!" and makes a bee-line for the bridge. Nate hides under the bridge and roars at Henry as he runs across. Oh my, does Henry love this!

Kudos to Nate because this thing is not easy to get on or off of if your are over 3 1/2 feet tall.

More troll play.

Having Fun

I'm thankful Henry loves to play and be silly...which means that sometimes I have to try to fit on a scooter that is way too small for me.

He did try to go down the slide on his tummy...with the basketball in his shirt - Nate caught him just as he was rolling over the edge.

Easter Sunday

Here are a few pictures from Easter morning. We were at at my parents' house for the weekend. We were thankful to get to spend some time with my Grandma, aunt & uncle, my cousin and her husband, and my sisters. We didn't do any Easter Bunny stuff but we did do an egg hunt before church and one outside in the afternoon.

I'm not sure if he has enough eggs...

Henry enjoying a chocolate treat while Gus hopes for a taste.

Hunting for eggs with Dad.

He had to open each egg to see what was inside.

Farm Visit

Last Friday, we visited our friends' farm. Mama A. had tried to take Henry and his cousins to the farm a few weeks earlier but it didn't work out. Cousin Megan (Mimi) was sick but cousin Lauren (also Mimi) came, too. From the moment we arrived, all Henry wanted to see was the chickens! Our friends have a St. Bernard named Puddles, who greeted us right away. I am not kidding - Puddles' head was the size of Henry's upper body and was definitely taller than Henry! It was a pretty windy day, but the kids had a great time.

It rained about an hour before we left for the farm so we got out the umbrella...thankfully, it stopped raining.

We started with visiting the newborn lambs. This one was born during the night.

After the lambs, we headed to visit the goats and kids, calves, sheep and llamas. We tried to get a picture of Henry with a llama who has a crazy under bite...but Henry was a little wary of them.

Finally, on to the chicken coop. Boy, was he happy to go in the chicken coop. He also liked the peacock. Mama, Lauren and Henry even collected some fresh eggs for us take home.
